With 33,500 employees, the company has been building a reliable, affordable, and accessible postal network for over 225 years. In addition, it is one of the key players in parcel delivery and logistics solutions. However, PostNL faces significant challenges, driven by the platform economy. While the volume of physical mail continues to decline, international eCommerce is growing rapidly, bringing with it increased competition and operational complexity.

The result
Working closely with the Executive Committee, we applied the JigsEye methodology to create a complete strategic overview and define key priorities. We structured our approach based on a ‘strategic pull’ (What do we believe we must achieve?) and a ‘bottom-up push’ (What are we working on? What contributes and what doesn’t?)
Next, we established a new governance framework and a time-efficient way of working for both the Executive Committee and the cross-business unit teams responsible for execution. Supported by JigsEye Insight, the Executive Committee is now able to monitor strategic priorities and their underlying cross-business unit initiatives; ánd systematically prioritize and pace execution.
This enables PostNL to collectively shape the acceleration of strategy execution and the associated decision-making while providing targeted input for the agile operating model.
